David Perrico and the ever-popular 18-piece Pop Strings Orchestra will return to Myron’s Cabaret Jazz at the Smith Center on July 14th at 8:00pm, this time featuring vocal group The Las Vegas Tenors. 

The Las Vegas Tenors combine three of the most dynamic and powerful voices Vegas has to offer!  Though the term "tenor" is commonly associated with classical music, these vocally versatile men of melody will shatter any preconceived notions about what it means to be a “tenor”. The Las Vegas Tenors do it all with the electric energy and pizzazz of the neon lights of Vegas. From Boston to the Doobie Brothers, The Moody Blues to The Bee Gees and Groban to Pavarotti, there will be music for all!

Paige O'Hara, original voice of Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast (the original 1991 animated feature), will make a very special guest appearance at the Pop Strings Orchestra May 11 "The Music of Disney" concert at Myron's Cabaret Jazz at The Smith Center.

​David Perrico is first and foremost a trumpet player; his instrument obvious to the eye and his talent for making music unmistakable to the ear.

But Perrico often compares his work to painting, beginning with a blank canvas. It all starts with writing, or “charting,” in musician’s parlance. That work, so important to Perrico’s craft, is what fans never see — aside from social-media posts showing sheet music seemingly crawling with thousands of black ants.

“I have my master’s degree in composition and film score, and I use my degree every day,” says Perrico, founder of his own Pop Strings orchestra, which headlines Cleopatra’s Barge at Caesars Palace Fridays and Saturday nights. “The writing is a huge part of what I do, and what I prefer, just for the artistry of it.”

Paul Shaffer first visited Las Vegas with his parents when he was 12 years old. The city made an indelible impression on David Letterman’s future late-night foil and bandleader, from Shaffer’s Rat Pack-inspired lingo to his eclectic musical range to his natural showmanship. After 33 years as one of the most recognizable figures in late-night television, he finally gets to “play the Palace” via a mini-residency when Paul Shaffer and the Shaf-Shifters take over Cleopatra’s Barge for a series of Friday through Sunday shows.

“I have made fun of lounge performers all my life,” he told Jimmy Kimmel during an October episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! “This is like fulfilling my destiny, to open at Caesars Palace’s lounge. … You’ve got to do your show and get the people out to the tables, and that’s what I intend to be doing.”
